PFC Hunter Dean Jordan passed away on Saturday, December 4, 2021 in Pierre, South Dakota at the age of 21. A memorial celebration of his life will be held at 1:00pm Central Standard Time, Saturday December 18, 2021 with visitations from 12:00pm-1:00pm at Feigum Funeral Home. Pastor Stephen Richards will officiate the ceremony. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Hunter’s life. Hunter was born on November 17, 2000 in Fort Worth, Texas to James and La Kisha Jordan. He attended most of his elementary and all but his senior year at McIntosh School District in McIntosh, South Dakota. After the family relocated to Pierre in the summer of 2018, he attended T.F. Riggs High School and graduated in 2019.
On February 28, 2018 Hunter enlisted as a 12C Bridge Crew Member into the 200th Engineer Company Detachment 2, in Mobridge, SD as a Private E-1. PVT Jordan attended Basic Combat Training (BCT) at Ft Leonard Wood, MO May 29, 2018 through August 10, 2018. PVT Jordan transferred to the 200th Engineer Company and joined the 1st Bridge Platoon in Pierre, SD on August 21, 2018. PVT Jordan was promoted to Private E-2 on August 28, 2018; promoted to Private First Class E-3 on February 28, 2019. PFC Jordan reported to Advanced Individual Training at Ft. Leonard Wood, MO on August 22, 2019 and graduated on October 11, 2019 where he was awarded his Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) 12C. PFC Jordan was promoted to Specialist E4 on February 29, 2020. SPC Jordan was awarded the Army Service Ribbon, the National Defense Service Ribbon for his completion of BCT and AIT and later the South Dakota Emergency Operations Ribbon while in support of a Capitol Protective Service State Active Duty mission in June of 2020.
Hunter was a wonderful son, a doting brother, and a loyal friend. During his high school career he enjoyed his years playing basketball with the varsity McIntosh Tigers.
Hunter is survived by his parents James and La Kisha Jordan and his sibling Jackson Jordan (11) of Pierre, South Dakota. He was preceded in death by his great grand-parents Joyce Daniels and Ernest Daniels, Sr of Fort Worth, Texas.
