Diann Kay Beer, 78, of Vivian, SD, died Monday, December 20, 2021 at Avera Maryhouse in Pierre.
A memorial service will take place Monday, January 3, 2022 at 2:00 pm at the Vivian Lutheran Church, with inurnment to follow at the Vivian Cemetery. The service can be viewed here:
Diann was born on September 23, 1943 to Albin and Kora (Lintvedt) Lindquist in Pierre. She was born the 7th of 9 children. She attended school in Vivian until she was 16 and moved to New York to live with her sister. She graduated from Central High School in Auburn, NY. She then graduated from Auburn Memorial School of Nursing in 1965 and became a registered nurse. While in nursing school she met Robert Beer and the two were married in 1966. To this union two sons were born: Christopher and Douglas. The family moved to Syracuse, NY, in 1968, Manassas, VA, in 1972, Pell City, AL, in 1988, and then retired in 2003. For the next 15 years Diann and Bob traveled the country full time in their RV. In 2019 they purchased a home and moved to Vivian.
Diann enjoyed traveling, watching college basketball, Atlanta Braves baseball and Nascar races. She found her career as a registered nurse to be very fulfilling.
Diann is survived by her husband Robert Beer, her son Christopher and his wife Andrea Guidoboni and their two children Joshua and Genevieve of Milford, NH, and her son Douglas and his wife Debbi of Belfast, TN. She is also survived by two siblings; Marlene (Keith) Patrick of Vivian and Orin (Sharon) Lindquist of Lockport, NY, her uncle Darrell Lintvedt of Presho and her aunt Berniece Rice of Milton, WI, and several nieces and nephews.
Diann was preceded in death by her parents and 6 siblings: Arla, Ula, Dean, Betty, Karen and Gary.
