Two Pierre couples plan to be home in a few days after surviving a cruise on extremely rough waters off the coast of Norway last weekend (Sat.).
Lowell and Karen Somsen and Vern and Jeanne Olson were aboard the Viking Sky for a 12 day cruise to see the Northern Lights.
Lowell Somsen says the situation became problematic when the engines quit.
Somsen says their evacuation area was flooded for a short time.
Somsen says his wife Karen injured her hip so they were some of the first people evacuated from the ship.
The US Embassy in Oslo said in a statement Sunday more than 600 Americans were on the cruise.
Norwegian officials have opened an investigation into why the ship set sail despite storm warnings.
