Y’Min Ismael Brings Horse, 25, of Eagle Butte passed away Wednesday, December 29, 2021 at Cheyenne River Health Center, Eagle Butte.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. MST, Tuesday, January 11, 2022 at Landmark Hall, Eagle Butte. Burial will follow in LaPlant Congregational Cemetery. A wake will be 7:00 p.m. Monday, January 10, 2022 at Landmark Hall with a procession from the 4-mile corner east of town at 3:00 p.m.
Y’Min Ismael Brings Horse was born March 30 1996, in Payson, UT. He lived in Springville, Utah until 2000 then made the moved to Eagle Butte, SD.
In Y’Min’s teenage years he moved to Rapid City with his grandmother, Clarice Lara where he went to Central High School. In 2014, they moved back home and he met up with his high school sweetheart, Geraldine “Geri” Zephier, who became his wife on his birthday in 2021.
Y’Min received his GED and wanted to further his education. In January of 2021, he was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia in Bismarck, ND. He was then transferred to Sioux Falls where he started weekly chemotherapy. In November 2021, he was transferred to Rochester, MN where his liver failed. Christmas day Y’Min got his Christmas wish to come home to Eagle Butte and see his family.
He enjoyed cooking, baking, sitting with his dog Winston, being with his family, playing online PS4 with his two brothers and friends, and just going out for a cruise with his wife, brothers, and family. He will be missed greatly and never forgotten.
Y’Min is survived by his wife, Geraldine Brings Horse; mother, Catherine Brings Horse; father, William Condon, Sr; stepfather, John Moran; maternal grandparents: Clarice Lara and Carlin Brings Horse Sr.; brothers: Wyett Loren Brings Horse and Ian Carlin Moran; paternal grandmother, Celestine Curley; and half siblings: William Jr., Chandler, Xavier, and Chantell Condon.
Y’Min was preceded in death by son, Y’Min Ismael Brings Horse, Jr; uncle, Eldred Jay Red Fox; cousins: Matthew Red Fox and Trenton Stands For; maternal grandparents: Pearl Brings Horse, Jimmy Brings Horse, Warren Barondreaux, and Nancy Brings Horse; and paternal grandfather, Cedric Condon (Bear Flys Over Water).
