Corrine J. Haugen, 88, of Huron, passed away Thursday, February 3, 2022, at Huron Regional Medical Center, surrounded by her family.
A funeral mass will be 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, February 9, 2022, at St. Liborius Catholic Church, Polo, Father Randy Phillips, celebrant. Burial will follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery, Polo. A rosary with family present will be at 6:30 p.m., Tuesday February 8, 2022, at the church.
Corrine Joanne Tunseth was born July 11, 1933, to Oscar and Evelyn (Kaldor) Tunseth in Mayville, North Dakota.
Corrine married Bernard Naber on September 28, 1953, in Mayville, North Dakota. Bernard and Corrine lived in Fairbanks, Alaska while Bernard was stationed in the Air Force, they also lived on the Air Force Base in Rapid City, SD. After Bernard was discharged, they moved to a farm near Orient, South Dakota, in 1956. In 1963, they built a new farm in the Miller area, where they continued to farm until Bernard passed away in 1971.
Corrine and her kids moved to Miller in 1973, where she worked for Peavy Lumber and the Hand County Courthouse. Then in 1976, Corrine and the two youngest children moved to Mayville, North Dakota. There, Corrine worked as the bookkeeper for a plumbing shop and the Catholic Church.
On October 1, 1977, she married Harry Haugen. They lived on a farm by Mayville until Harry passed away in 1999. It was then Corrine moved to Huron to be closer to her children. She volunteered as a grandma at the Holy Cross Catholic Church.
Grateful to have shared in her life are her children: Terry (Cindy) Naber of St. Lawrence, Janet (Randall) Gross of Huron, Timothy Naber of Huron, and Stacie (Kevin) Stadick of Brooklyn Park, MN; sister, Marguerite Miller of Minnetonka, MN; eight grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; brother-in-law, Leo (Betty) Naber, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Corrine was preceded in death by her husbands: Bernard Naber and Harry Haugen; two brothers: Edward and Wallace Tunseth; parents: Oscar and Evelyn Tunseth; mother and father-in-law: Frank and Renata Naber; and brothers-in-law, Jerome Naber and James Miller.
Reck Funeral Home of Miller has been entrusted with Corrine’s arrangements.
