Margie Katus, age 80 of Watauga, SD; passed away on Sunday, February 6, 2022 at The Village at Skyline Pines Assisted Living in Rapid City, SD.
The Rosary Service will be held at 10:30am and the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00am MT, on Saturday, February 19, 2022 at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Watauga with Fr. Adam Hofer, officiating.

A Private Family Burial will be held at St. Michael’s Catholic Cemetery at Watauga.
Serving as Honorary Bearers are her grandchildren.
Margie Mosbrucker was born on November 17, 1941 to Frank and Celestine (Friedt) Mosbrucker in Mott, ND. Margie attended school in Mott ND and graduated from Mott High School in 1959. After graduation Margie started work at a bank in Lemmon SD. After meeting Bob Katus and a short courtship, the couple got married in Mott ND on February 16th, 1963. Robert (Bob) and Margie continued their lives owning and operating the family ranch located on the Cedar River in Grant County ND. It was there that they started their family with the additions of two children, Stacey in 1965 and Scott in 1968.
In the early years Margie worked off the farm as the secretary for the States Attorney in McIntosh SD. After the kids where grown she enjoyed working at the McIntosh school as a substitute teacher and later as the deputy for the Clerk of Courts in McIntosh. Margie moved to Rapid City SD in July 2019.
Margie’s pride and joy was her yard. She worked tirelessly to make it a showcase out in the middle of the prairie. She also grew a large garden, supplying the family with fresh vegetables and delicious food. Margie was well known for her homemade buns, twists, and chocolate chip cookies. She would make the best fried chicken. Margie was an avid quilter and was a member of a quilting club in Elgin ND for many years. Margie loved spending time with her six grandchildren and attending many of their sporting events. She especially loved being entertained by her great-granddaughter, Sloan.
Margie passed away on February 6, 2022 at The Village at the Skyline Pines in Rapid City, SD with her family by her side.
Grateful for having shared her life are her children, Stacey (Greg) Laub, and Scott (Heather) Katus; six grandchildren: Nicole and Morgan Laub, Jaci (Andy) Mrnak, Cole, Braydon and Tally Katus, and great-granddaughter, Sloan Mrnak; sister Regina (Tom) Nistler; brothers, Vince (Cheryl) Mosbrucker, Victor (Donna) Mosbrucker, Patrick (Anna) Mosbrucker, Larry Mosbrucker and Eugene Mosbrucker; sister-in-law, Marian Lemke; brother-in-law, Dennis (Rhalene) Katus as well as numerous nieces and nephews and special friends Paul and Marlene Soebbing.
Margie was preceded in death by her husband Bob; her parents; infant brother Linus; sisters, Agatha (Tony) Meier and Catherine (Joe) Meier, sisters-in-law, Betty Mosbrucker and Sandy Mosbrucker; brother-in-law, David Lemke; niece Paula Mosbrucker and nephews, Delmar Meier and Rodney Mosbrucker.
