Chad Everett Miller passed away unexpectedly February 3, 2022 in Crow Creek, SD.
Chad was born February 11, 1978 to Vernon Paul “Chick” Miller and Marlys Faye Miller in Chamberlain, SD. He grew up in Crow Creek and went to school in Chamberlain. From the time he was a kid he liked to be outside. Whether he was horseback riding (“bareback!” as Chad would say), fishing, hiking, playing basketball, swimming in the creek, or just spending time with his family. He liked going to ceremonies and doing other traditional things, like singing, going to inipi and pow-wow. He loved his friends and especially his family. And he was a fierce protector of them all.
Chad and Mataja were married July 22, 2011 in Mitchell, SD. One month later, Vernon Paul came into their lives. Vernon was the light of Chad’s life, and he loved him very much! He was the best Dad and they were the definition of best friends. If you saw one, the other wasn’t far behind. He loved spending time with his many nieces, nephews, and grandkids. He was especially close with his niece Casey.
Chad is survived by his wife Mataja and son Vernon of Sioux Falls; son Chayden Miller of Fort Thompson; siblings Lisa (Mark) Miller of Wagner, Scott (Ed) Miller of Crow Creek, Shelley (Arnell) McMahan of Crow Creek, Rick Miller of Crow Creek, Brian (Destiny) Miller of Sioux Falls, Wesley Miller of Crow Creek, and Michael Miller of Crow Creek; and many other relatives and friends.
Preceding him in death were his parents, grandparents, and his niece Marissa Grace Miller.
