Sidney Roy Haux of Mobridge South Dakota passed away on Monday March 7, 2022, at the age of 80. After several months of declining health, Sid died peacefully with his beloved wife Pearl by his side, at the Mobridge Regional Hospital.
Sid was born in McIntosh SD on May 20, 1941, to father, Roy Haux and mother, Opal (Bean) Haux. While Sid was still young his parents moved to Mobridge where he and his brothers and sister grew up.
Sid attended grammar school and graduated from the Mobridge High School,
After graduation Sid and several close friends moved to San Jose California, where he was employed by G.E. There he started his first family and had two girls, Jill and Robin. Sid decided to move his family back to Mobridge, SD and go to work with his father Roy at Haux TV. There he would work for 50+ years. He also went to work for 5-County TV Translator District for the next several years as they provided TV to the surrounding area.
Between his father and Sid, Haux TV provided quality sound to The Sitting Bulls Stampede Rodeo and Fourth of July Parades free of charge 50 years.
In 1978 he met Pearl (Schlomer) Flanagan and some 20 year later they were married. Expanding his family with two boys John and George Flanagan. Pearl and Sid became foster parents and after several years of providing foster care, Lexi Laundreaux was placed in their care and 26 years later she is still very much a part of the family.
Sid was preceded in death by his parents and by his brother Fred and sister Judy (Wilcut) Haux.
He is survived by his wife Pearl Flanagan Haux; children Jill (Chuck) Mross, Robin Haux, John (Joy) Flanagan, George (Lisa) Flanagan. Adopted daughter Lexi Landreaux; grandchildren. Emily & Bailey Chavez, Stephan, Grace, Connor, Faith Flanagan. Khori & Shawn Flanagan and Alexander Mross
A visitation for Sid is planned for Saturday March 12, 2022, from 1 pm to 2pm at the Kesling Funeral Home in Mobridge SD. The memorial service will follow immediately at 2 pm.
