PIERRE, SD – Lola Marie Busch, 94, of Pierre, SD died Saturday, January 18, 2025 at Edgewood Senior Living in Pierre.

Memorial service and burial of cremated remains will take place in Black Hills National Cemetery at Sturgis, SD at a later date.

Lola Marie Twombley was born on the family farm south of Artesian, SD on December 7, 1930. She was the second child of Bernard (BL) and Irene (Flagel) Twombley.

Lola was always active in church as Sunday School teacher, choir and women’s groups. On July 24, 1949 Lola married Doyce Busch. Born of this union were Darron, Jill, and Kim.

When Doyce retired, their time was spent between Ft. Pierre and Mission, Texas. They shared many years traveling around the US discovering all it had to offer and visiting family and friends. Lola had a beautiful singing voice and loved being in competitive Sweet Adelines for many years.

Preceding her in death are her parents, sister, Beulah Stolz, brother, LeRoy Twombley, husband, Doyce, and son-in-law, Gary Schroeder. Lola is survived by her children, Darron (Colleen) of Pierre, Jill of Huntsville, AL and Kim (Linda) of Omaha, NE. Also surviving Lola are twelve grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.

The family is grateful to staff from both Edgewood and Hospice for the care provided to Lola.

Arrangements have been placed in the care of Feigum Funeral Home of Pierre.
