Norman was born November 7, 1991, at the Eagle Butte Hospital to Darlene Bowker and Norman Little Shield, Sr. He grew up most of his life in LaPlant and Isabel where he attended Tiospaye Topa School and joined Job Corp in Nemo, SD.
Norman was a skilled horseman who broke horses as a hobby. He was fearless when it came to riding any horse. His uncles, especially Uncle Clyde, who meant the world to him, instructed him. He rode and broke horses alongside Clyde and other relatives. He rode with his father, Norman Sr. and his uncles, Dixie and the late Andy, and his cousins. He loved working on ranches with his cousin, Orville Clown. Norman was a dedicated Bigfoot rider which was an honor for him. He also participated in the suicide ride that was held yearly in Cherry Creek. That meant a lot to him.
Norman was always thrilled to see his nieces and nephews whenever they were around, by teasing them and playing games with them.
He shared his life with his beloved partner, Mindy Turning Heart and cherished her deeply. He loved her children, particularly Aubrey, as if they were his own. He loved to cook for Mindy and her family. Additionally, he also welcomed Kellon as his son and loved him with great affection.
Norman is survived by his mother, Darlene Bowker Hanway of LaPlant; father, Norman Little Shield Sr. of Cherry Creek; son, Kellon Little Shield of Pierre; brother, Kelly Romero of Cherry Creek; sisters: Santana O’Hara of Bismarck, ND, Deann and Diane Little Shield of LaPlant, JoAnn Little Shield of Eagle Butte.
