PIERRE, S.D. – The Souris Valley Sabre Dogs had a 9 run 7ath inning Tuesday night as they obliterated the Pierre Trappers 18-1 in Expedition League Baseball Tuesday night at Hyde Stadium. Pierre was in the game trailing just 4-1 until the 7th. The Sabre Dlgs had 4 home runs and 4 extra base hits accounting for half of their total hits in the game. The Trappers had 10 hits in the game with 9 of them singles. Cal Smith drove in the only run of the game for the Trappers. Tyler McDonald started and went 6 innings for Pierre in taking the loss allowing 4 runs on 8 hits but 5 relief pitchers struggled in the final 3 innings to keep the Sabre Dogs off the scoreboard. The loss dropped the Trappers record to 7 and 9 on the season as they begin a two game series hosting the Western Nebraska Pioneers for the first time this year tonight at Hyde Stadium. Game time is 6:35 pm.
