A 27-year-old Pierre man faces charges after a domestic violence incident yesterday (Tues.).
According to the Pierre Police Department, officers were called to the 2300 Block of Flag Mountain Drive around 10:45pm for an assault that had taken place. Upon arrival, they met with the victim who said she had been assaulted and strangled by Tomas Bearshield. During the assault, Bearshield broke the victim’s phone which prevented the victim from calling 911 for help. The victim did not require medical attention.
Bearshield was located later in the evening and taken into custody for Aggravated Assault Domestic Violence, Interference with Emergency Communication and an active warrant for his arrest. He was taken to the Hughes County Jail.
