The eighth annual Walk of Hope will be held September 14 at the Capitol Lake Visitor Center (500 E Capitol Ave.) in Pierre with registration beginning at 8:15 am.
Event Coordinator Julie Moore says attendance at the walk increases each year.
Moore says that suicide and mental illness can affect everyone. People of all ages can get involved in the walk.
There is no registration fee to participate in the Walk of Hope, but donations are appreciated. All profits fund prevention training events and awareness efforts.
