In South Dakota, polls are open for today’s (June 2, 2026) primary election from 7am-7pm local time.
Although most things in Stanley County operate on Central Time, Auditor Phil Burtch says for elections, polls are open according to Mountain Time and people must vote at their assigned polling location.
Burtch says there are some Stanley County voters that don’t have anything to vote on today.
Regardless of where you live in South Dakota, you need to bring a photo ID with you when you go vote.
Burtch encourages voters to go to the VIP portal on the South Dakota Secretary of State’s website to look at their sample ballot before going to vote. She says you can even print your sample ballot, fill it out at home and bring it with you as a guide while filling out your official ballot.
Voters in Hughes County will be able to pick from five vote center locations to cast their ballot for the election. They are located at:
-
Faith Lutheran Church, Pierre
-
New Life Assembly of God Church, Pierre
-
Capitol Lake Visitors Center, Pierre
-

-

The polling locations in Stanley County are:
