Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, South Dakota schools have been closed for a few weeks and aren’t expected to open again until May 1 at the earliest.
Stanley County school Supt. Dan Hoey says staff miss seeing their students, so they and the district’s school board members are holding a parade this (Tues.) evening.
Hoey says along with learning, traditional education provides a social experience.
The Stanley County School parade will start at 6:30pm this evening in the Parkview parking lot in Fort Pierre.
People are invited to watch and wave from the sidewalk– while following recommended social distancing guidelines.
