A 39-year-old woman from Fort Thompson convicted of Distribution of a Controlled Substance Resulting in Death has been sentenced in US District Court.
Renita Faye Taylor must spend 240 months in federal prison, followed by 3 years of supervised release and pay a $1,000 fine.
The conviction stemmed from an incident on or about August 6, 2019, where Taylor knowingly distributed pills containing Fentanyl and that distribution resulted in the death of an adult male on the Crow Creek Indian Reservation.
Taylor was immediately turned over to the custody of the US Marshals Service.
