Yesterday saw a strange game on the schedule for Herreid Selby Area as they traveled to Redfield to take on Avon. If that wasn’t strange enough, they played at 3:00 PM. The Herreid Selby Area Wolverines were up for the challenge, however. The Wolverines put up 463 yards of total offence and held the Avon Pirates to just 256 yards. The Wolverines were 11 of 18 passing for 177 yards and ran the ball 31 times for 286 yards. Five touchdowns came from the air and four from the ground. The Pirates were 9 for 17 through the air for 111 yards and 2 touchdowns and ran the ball 42 times for 145 yards. Avon scored two touchdowns on the ground and two through the air. Trey Sayler had a big night carrying the ball for Herreid Selby Area with nine carries he gained 106 yards. Both Brenden Begeman and Trey Sayler intercepted passes form Avon. In the end it was the Wolverines big over The Pirates 59 to 28. Herreid Selby Area will take on Ipswich Edmunds Central next Friday in Selby. Thanks to Spencer Gosch for providing the stats. Mobridge Pollock had a big night against The Webster Area Bearcats. As the Tigers put up 496 yards of total offence and held the Bearcats to a minus 17 yards. The Tigers averaged 8 yards per play and had 308 yards on the ground and 188 yards through the air. Cayden Eisemann went 15 for 23 passing for 188 yards and 4 touchdowns in the game. It was run by committee for Mobridge Pollock as Gavin Reinert had 10 carries for 69 yards, Trent Schmeichel had 5 carries for 50 yards, Chaseton Myers had 4 carries for 47 yards and so on and so on. Bryston Goehring had 4 catches for 60 yards followed by Zane Reinert who caught the ball a couple of time for 45 yards, both receivers got into the end zone twice. Mobridge Pollock will play next against Redfield next Friday in Redfield who was defeated tonight by Sisseton 36 to 8.
