Today’s (Oct. 22, 2020) update from the South Dakota Department of Health showed 948 new confirmed cases and 25 new probable cases of COVID-19 in the state since yesterday.
In South Dakota there are:
• 9273 currently active cases
• 355 currently hospitalized
• 347 total deaths
Coronavirus patients currently occupy 13.2% of the staffed hospital beds in the state. Other patients are using 51.7% of the staffed beds leaving 35.1% available. Of the staffed intensive care unit beds in the state, COVID-19 patients are using 22.7%, other patients occupy 40.9% and 36.4% are available to be used.
