HURON – Northwestern and Warner, familiar participants, won semifinal matches Friday at the SDHSAA B State Volleyball Tournament at the Huron Arena.
Semifinals
Northwestern 3, Colman-Egan 0 (25-18, 25-19, 25-20)
The 11-time state-champion Wildcats (28-1) were led by Sydney Schell’s 23 kills. Mackenzie Hemmer had 15 kills for the Hawks (25-4).
Warner 3, Chester Area 1 (23-25, 25-23, 25-18, 25-19)
Four-time champion Warner (24-1) reached its seventh title match since 2012, led by 14 kills from Jennifer Aman. Breckyn Ewoldt had 16 kills for the Flyers (22-3).
Consolation
Bridgewater-Emery 3, Corsica-Stickney 2 (25-17, 25-19, 14-25, 22-25, 15-11)
Julia Weber was excellent for the Huskies (22-3) with 23 kills and 32 digs. Morgan Delange registered 13 kills for Corsica-Stickney (19-5).
Faulkton Area 3, Hitchcock-Tulare 0 (25-18, 25-16, 25-20)
Isabel Aesoph led the Trojans (19-6) to the sweep with 20 kills, 23 assists and 23 digs. Ashley Masat had 7 kills for the Patriots (18-6).
