The reason I love the radio industry so much is that I get to impact so many listener’s lives on-air, online, on social media and my personal favorite …in person. My goal is to leave a lasting impression on everyone I come in contact with. Last night, my general manager Diane Deis and her husband, our sales manager/digital manager John Sterling, and I volunteered at Feeding South Dakota! It was a great opportunity to give back to our community. In our two hours there, we were able to pack a few pallets of food boxes for seniors in central South Dakota. I’m not going to lie, our time went by so fast. We were all having fun and efficiently packing the boxes. We even made some new friends that volunteer frequently! By the end of the two hours, we were all questioning if we were really done or not. I know the group of us that went are looking forward to doing it again!
We were talking to the director last night and she said they are in need of volunteers right now for just about every shift. They have multiple different shifts available for folks to volunteer. There were eight of us last night, but we could have used a few more people. I can’t imagine doing what we did with three people. That would’ve been so hard!
