Smoke, but no fire early this morning at Dakota Mill and Grain in Fort Pierre

An alert employee at Dakota Mill and Grain in Fort Pierre saw smoke and called for the fire department around 6:30 this morning (Mon.).

Fort Pierre Volunteer Fire Department assistant chief Tye Odden says the smoke was coming out of a holding bin.

The fire department was on scene for about 2.5 hours.
