Law enforcement training is being held at the Oahe Downstream Shooting Complex, located along Highway 1806 at Fort Pierre/Pierre, this week.
The shooting bays will be used for training today (Tues. May 11) from 12:30-10pm and Friday (May 14) from 7:30am-1pm (all times central).
Park Manager Erik Richter says they’re working with the Stanley County Sheriff’s Department to provide the facilities for the important training. He says they strive to provide public access, but there are times when law enforcement agencies or youth groups such as 4-H Shooting Sports need to use the facilities.
Richter says during these training periods, the shotgun area of the Shooting Complex will be available to the public, but the shooting bays will have barricades set up to block access.
