Fort Pierre has struggled to hire enough life guards, but will finally be able to open the city owned pool one week from yesterday (June 15).
Alderman Larry Cronin thinks the rate of pay Fort Pierre offers is part of the problem attracting summer help.
Thursday and Friday (June 10-11) from 6-8pm staff will be at the pool selling season passes and signing kids up for swimming lessons, but the pool will not be open for swimming.
Cost for lessons is $20 per session. The daily admission fee is $2. Individual season passes cost $30 and family season passes cost $50. Family passes are limited to two adults and children living in the same household. The season passes are nonrefundable.
The current plan is for the Fort Pierre pool to be open:
-
