Sutton Bay Lakeside Use Area closed this week

The Sutton Bay Lakeside Use Area north of Pierre and Fort Pierre on Highway 1804 will be closed this week (June 14-18).

South Dakota Game, Fish and Parks Department Planning and Development Administrator Adam Kulesa says because of low water conditions, GFP will be transitioning to the low-water boat ramp at Sutton Bay. He says to get in and back out as fast as possible, they’re closing Sutton Bay for five days.

Kulesa says the department also has a contract in place to bring the low water ramp at Little Bend into service. He says with the low water conditions GFP knew this work was going to have to be done, so they ask anglers and boaters to be patient while they get the ramps back into service.
