A 30 year old man from Pierre has been indicted by a federal grand jury for Conspiracy to Distribute a Controlled Substance.
Randy Little Shield pled not guilty.
Court information alleges that on July 14, 2021, in Pierre, Little Shield conspired with others to intentionally distribute and possess with the intent to distribute 500 grams or more of methamphetamine in central South Dakota.
The maximum penalty if convicted is up to life in federal prison and/or a $10,000,000 fine, five years of supervised release, and $100 to the Federal Crime Victims Fund. Restitution may also be ordered.
The investigation is being conducted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Northern Plains Safe Trails Drug Enforcement Task Force. Assistant U.S. Attorney Meghan Dilges is prosecuting the case.
Little Shield was remanded to the custody of the US Marshals Service pending trial.
