FORT PIERRE – Stanley County Football struggled again in the first half in falling to 0-2 with a 43-22 loss to Parkston Friday at Ole Williamson Field.
Parkston quarterback Cole Prunty rushed for 109 yards and three touchdowns and threw a touchdown pass to Max Scott as the Trojans built a 35-0 halftime lead. Payton Albrecht returned an interception 32 yards for a touchdown.
Then, Stanley County avoided a second straight shutout with a 22-point fourth quarter. Lathan Prince rushed for one touchdown and passed to Gavin Irving for another. Irving ran back a kickoff for a touchdown on the final play of the game.
