Speed limit dropping to 30mph on Spring Creek Road in Hughes County

The Hughes County Commission has approved a reduction in the speed limit on about a one mile stretch of Spring Creek Road north of Pierre.

Currently, the speed limit is 45mph from Highway 1804 to Landing Avenue, where it changes to 30mph going from there, west to the Hughes County line.

County manager Kevin Hipple says the ordinance lowering the speed limit will take effect in a few weeks.
