A 30 year old Pukwana woman convicted of Assaulting, Resisting, Opposing and Impeding a Federal Officer has been sentenced in federal US District Court.
Casey Harrison must spend 18 months in federal prison, followed by three years of supervised release, and pay a special assessment to the Federal Crime Victims Fund in the amount of $100.
The conviction stemmed from an incident that occurred on July 24, 2020, in Fort Thompson, in which officers responded to a report of an intoxicated and aggressive individual. Upon arrival, officers attempted to arrest Harrison, who assaulted a law enforcement officer by kicking him, squeezing his genitalia and spitting on him.
This case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Bureau of Indian Affairs – Crow Creek Agency.
Harrison was immediately turned over to the custody of the U.S. Marshals Service.
