UPDATE DECEMBER 1, 2021:
Chalk up yet another victory for the train bridge in Pierre.
Around 7:30am yesterday (Nov. 30, 2021), a southbound pickup pulling a camper drove under the 11’3” clearance bridge, losing the air ventilation system unit on the top.
Information from the Pierre Police Department says the driver of the pickup was Michael Gikchuk from White City, Saskatchewan. Damage to the camper is estimated to be $10,000. No citations were issued.
