The Mobridge City Council held a special meeting Tuesday, December 28th to wrap up final business for the year.
The second reading of Ordinance 1003 for supplemental appropriations was approved. Mobridge City Finance Officer Heather Beck had to make a few line item changes.
A public hearing was held on redistricting, and a first reading of Ordinance 1004 amending voting precincts was approved by the council. Redistricting is something that is done every ten years after a census. Finance Officer Beck said the population of Mobridge has decreased.
Also Tuesday night, a motion failed for lack of second to appoint Adam Hohle to the zoning board to replace Tom Singer, who is resigning. Singer’s term runs through 2023.
Council did approve an agreement with KLJ for a fuel tank system at the airport.
A resolution passed to change the city council’s meeting day from the second Tuesday of each month to the second Wednesday. This will take effect in February.
Mobridge Police Chief Shawn Madison was able to get on a list to purchase two Dodge Durangos for the Police Department in the amount of $58,700.00. Finance Officer Beck told the council there were excess funds in that department’s budget this year due to staffing issues.
A transfer of $69,000.00 from the General Fund to the Pool Loan Fund was approved. Beck said this is a budgeted transfer.
