The Mobridge City Council held a regular meeting Wednesday, March 9th, at Mobridge City Hall.
New staff at the Mobridge Chamber of Commerce introduced themselves to the council – Kati Hutchins, Director of Operations, and Tim Conlon, Director of Outreach.
Water and Wastewater Department Superintendent Kurt Schmaltz asked the council to approve an agreement with Moore Engineering to analyze sludge disposal options at a cost of $29,500. Schmaltz told the council what will be done.
The Council approved another agreement with Moore Engineering to evaluate the Mobridge water and sanitary sewer system at a cost of $109,735.
For the Police Department, Council approved an internship program for the 4th of July holiday period. Captain Tom Strickland said he would like to have six to eight students chosen from the Lake Area Tech law enforcement program by May 1st, depending on what other law enforcement agencies around the area want to do. Strickland said Corson County has already expressed interest in taking on two students for the program.
Council approved the first reading of Ordinance number 1005 amending the revised zoning ordinances of the City. Mayor Gene Cox gave the details.
Also approved at Wednesday night’s meeting:
The audit agreement for the 2021 audit with Kohlman, Bierschbach, and Anderson for $20,800;
Pool staff and wages for 2022;
And the Grant Policy for the City of Mobridge. City Finance Officer Heather Beck…
The Mobridge City Council will hold a special meeting on March 30th for a public hearing regarding the projects the City wants funding for. The deadline to apply for funding is April 1st. Ted Dickey of NECOG will be present at that meeting to inform the council about the projects.
