A teenage girl has been cited for careless driving and not having a driver’s license after she accidentally drove a vehicle into the Wonderful House restaurant in downtown Pierre shortly before 7pm Saturday (March 19, 2022).
Information from the South Dakota Highway Patrol says the teenager was practicing driving and was parking the vehicle when she hit the gas instead of the brakes. The vehicle went over the curb and sidewalk and through the front wall of the building.
There were no injuries. The adult male with the teenager was cited for allowing an unauthorized driver to drive.
The restaurant is open for business today.
