Part of Pierre was out of power for about 20 minutes late this morning (May 2, 2022) after a transformer blew at the WAPA substation.
A Pierre city spokesperson says the electricity went off at 11:27am CT and was back on at 11:46am CT. About 400 accounts were affected.

Part of Pierre is out of power at this hour after a transformer blew at the WAPA substation.
A Pierre city spokesperson says about 400 accounts are impacted. Workers are on scene making repairs. Meanwhile, traffic lights and businesses along Sioux Avenue are without power heading into the busy noon dinner rush.
