PIERRE – After an absence of two years, the South Dakota Special Olympics Law Enforcement Torch Run will return later this month. Its stop in Pierre will be on Wednesday, May 18.
Retired Rapid City police officer Dave Stratton is an assistant director of the event and spoke before the Pierre City Commission on Tuesday.
Stratton said that the event will have an early start.
The public is welcome to participate.
The South Dakota Special Olympics Summer Games will be held the next day, Thursday, May 19, at Black Hills State University in Spearfish.
