BROOKINGS – After a wild semifinal win put the Pierre Teeners in the 13U state tournament title game Sunday, Watertown scored eight runs in the first two innings to win that championship game 10-0 in five innings.
Pierre (32-11-1) committed five errors and managed only two singles by Carter Schiefelbein and Eli Anderson.
Pierre had an incredible comeback to win 14-13 over Harrisburg Gold earlier Sunday in a semifinal game. The Teeners were down 9-2 after four innings, but then scored five runs in the fifth inning to move to within 9-7, then scored seven runs in the sixth.
Hudson Stoeser had his second RBI single of the game in the sixth to give Pierre the lead for good. Schiefelbein, Parker O’Bryan and Aiden Bass each drove in two runs for the Teeners.
