HERREID – Brenden Begeman keeps his opponents chasing after him and helps keep Herreid/Selby unbeaten and the favorite in 9B.
Begeman had three rushing touchdowns and caught two scoring passes from Tray Hettick Thursday as H/SA swamped Avon 44-14 in a 9B quarterfinal.
Both players, who are seniors, reached milestone yardage numbers. Begeman passed the 6,000-yard mark in career rushing and Hettick passed the 5,000-yard plateau in passing.
Mason Vetter added a rushing touchdown for the Wolverines (10-0) who will host Irene-Wakonda in the semifinal round on Friday, November 4. Irene-Wakonda registered a second straight upset with a comeback 36-30 win Thursday over Sully Buttes in Onida.
