FORT PIERRE – For the second straight game, the Oahe Capital boys scored a late third period goal, this time by Jayce Anderson with 3:53 remaining, for a 5-4 win over Brandon Valley Saturday at the Expo Center.
Devin Dodson scored early in the third period to give the Capitals (2-0) a 4-2 lead before Dirk Fornwald scored twice in less than three minutes to tie the game for Brandon Valley.
Barret Schweitzer and Ashton Griese each had a goal and an assist for the Capitals and Jarron Beck also scored. Spencer Anderson made 23 saves in net. The Capitals outshot the Ice Cats 52-27.
The Capitals will again host Brandon Valley on Sunday at the Expo Center.
