Pierre’s Shorter Signs With MSU-Mankato Track & Field

PIERRE – Pierre Governor Track and Field athlete Maya Shorter, a senior, signed a letter of intent Monday to compete at Minnesota State-Mankato, starting in 2023-24.

Shorter won the ESD girls javelin competition in 2022 and was second in the AA state track and field meet.

Shorter intends to compete in discus and javelin for the Mavericks, who also would like to see how well she can do in the hammer throw, an event she said she had not tried until trying out for MSU-Mankato.
