SIOUX FALLS – Brooklyn Harpe made sure the Pierre Governors went home worn down.
Harpe’s fine post play led to a 29-point game Saturday as Sioux Falls Washington broke open a tight game in the fourth quarter to defeat Pierre 57-49 and give the Governors their first loss of the season after six wins.
Harpe also had nine rebounds, four assists, two steals and a block. Grace Peterson scored 11 for Washington (3-1)
Remington Price hit four three-pointers for Pierre and had 16 points. Price now has 157 career made threes, third in program history, and only one behind Hallie Jerome, who hit 158. Emily Mikkelsen is the program leader with 175.
Lennix DuPris and Ryann Barry each scored eight for the Governors, who were held to two field goals in the game’s last 11:08.
