PIERRE – The Governor girls kept winning Friday, and one of their players made history.
Pierre defeated Yankton 59-18 at the Riggs High Gym as Remington Price established the Governor girls’ program record for made three-pointers.
Ayvrie Kaiser, Ryan Berry and Lennix DuPris each scored nine for Pierre (12-2). Price scored eight and hit two three-pointers. She now has 176 for her career, breaking the record formerly held by Emily Mikkelsen, who played from 2015-19.
Pierre led 10-6 with just over two minutes left in the first quarter, then held Yankton scoreless over the next 12 and a half minutes in a 35-0 run.
Clare Tereshinski scored six points for Yankton (1-11).
