The National Weather Service says early models are showing a large winter storm is expected to move through South Dakota mid-week.
Meteorologist Scott Doering says currently, it looks like the storm will start tomorrow night (Feb. 21, 2023) in the north central and northeast parts of the state.
Doering says wind and extremely cold temperatures are also expected.
A Winter Storm Watch begins at midnight tomorrow night and goes through noon on Thursday. However, it’s likely that will be upgraded to a Winter Storm Warning or Blizzard Warning as the storm moves through the state.
