PIERRE – With the problems of 2022 long gone, collegiate summer league baseball began a new era Tuesday in Pierre, but not with the desired result.
In their inaugural game, the Oahe Zap fell 3-0 to the Nebraska Prospects at Hyde Stadium.
Righthander Gavin Starcher of the University of Toledo took the loss, allowing only an unearned run in six innings. The Prospects’ first run scored on a sixth-inning error.
The Zap were held to just four hits, two of which were by Jackson Mix on a double and single. Andrew Beavers and Kyle Memarian also had singles for Oahe.
