PIERRE – Now, they’ve won two out of three.
The Oahe Zap never trailed Thursday in a 3-2 win over the Hastings Sodbusters at Hyde Stadium, the Zap’s second win in three games after an 11-game losing streak.
Graham Young gave up an unearned run and three hits in five innings for the win. Brady Glenn allowed six hits and a run in the last four innings, but worked out of trouble to earn the save.
Cy Probst and Kyle Memarian had RBI doubles in the first inning to give the Zap (3-15) a 2-0 lead. After Hastings scored in the fifth, Memarian’s sixth inning sacrifice fly reinstated the two-run Oahe lead at 3-1.
Gage Franck homered for Hastings in the seventh to cut the Oahe advantage to one.
In the ninth inning, the Sodbusters loaded the bases with three singles after one out. Josh Prinner flew out to Zap right fielder Preston Lau, who threw to Probst at the plate to double off Ty Mattson to end the game.
