BRANDON – A six-run fifth inning was the difference for Omaha North (NE) Sunday in a 10-3 victory over Post 8 in both teams’ final game of the Dakota Classic at Aspen Park.
Post 8 gained a 3-2 lead in the fifth. Jonny Lyons tied the game with an RBI single, then an outfield error on the same play gave the Eights (1-18) the lead, but then came Omaha North’s rally in the bottom half.
Matthew Coverdale took the loss on the mound as he was removed during that rally.
Ridge Leimbach had provided the first Post 8 run with a first-inning RBI single.
