PIERRE, S.D. – The Oahe Capitals boys varsity hockey team recorded their third consecutive shutout on Friday night (Jan. 19, 2024) as they downed Huron 7-0 in league action in Ft. Pierre. The Capitals scored 3 times each in the first and second periods with Barrett Schweitzer getting a hat trick for the Capitals and Dylan Dodson scoring a pair of goals. Jarron Beck added a goal for Oahe while Devlin Dodson tallied for the Capitals lone goal in the final stanza. The Capitals got 32 shots on goal while Jason Jungwirth stopped all 15 shots fired on goal by Huron. With the win, the Capitals improved their league record to 7-3-1 and are tied for third place with Aberdeen with 15 total points.
The Capitals are back on the ice tonight hosting second place Brookings in the standings at 7:15 pm.
