With camp now officially underway, the defending American League Central Division Champion Minnesota Twins, in conjunction with their partners (Bally Sports North, Audacy’s News Talk 830 WCCO (WCCO-AM) and 102.9 The Wolf (KMNB-FM) and the Treasure Island Baseball Network) have announced the club’s 24-game, 2024 Spring Training broadcast schedule.
Bally Sports North will telecast eight Twins Grapefruit League games, all of which will also be streamed live on the Bally Sports app. There will be 20 audio broadcasts produced by the Treasure Island Baseball Network; 14 will be carried in the Twin Cities on News Talk 830 WCCO (and simulcast on 102.9 The Wolf), while all 20 will be streamed, live and free of charge, via the Audacy app, smart speakers and website within a geofence that expands across the Upper Midwest. All 24 broadcasts will originate on-site from ballparks in Florida. Every Twins-produced broadcast will feature exclusive live interviews of players, on-field personnel or front office staff as the club prepares for the 2024 season.
Bally Sports North Telecasts
The Bally Sports North eight-game broadcast schedule will consist of three contests called by new television play-by-play voice Cory Provus, who begins his 12th season in a Twins broadcast booth, alongside Twins Hall of Famer Justin Morneau and Twins Special Assistant LaTroy Hawkins; two simulcasts featuring a combination of BSN cameras, graphics and replays, accompanied by analysis and play-by-play from the new primary voice of the Treasure Island Baseball Network, Kris Atteberry, and Twins Hall of Famer Dan Gladden; and three simulcasts of the opponents’ broadcast feed (Thursday, March 12 at Detroit; Wednesday, March 13 at Tampa Bay; and Monday, March 25 at Atlanta).
Provus and Morneau make their 2024 debut on Bally Sports North on March 20 when Minnesota welcomes the Detroit Tigers to the Lee Health Sports Complex; the pair will also call the March 22 game vs. the Atlanta Braves, while Hawkins joins Provus on March 24 as the Twins host the Baltimore Orioles.
Treasure Island Baseball Network Audio Broadcasts
The Treasure Island Baseball Network’s 20 games will feature a combination of Atteberry, who enters his 18th season with the Twins and first as the primary play-by-play talent, and Gladden, who enters his 26th year in the Twins radio booth after helping Minnesota to the 1987 and 1991 World Series titles.
Audacy’s News Talk 830 WCCO and 102.9 The Wolf begins its 14-game broadcast schedule at 5:00 p.m. CT on February 23 for a special Twins exhibition game vs the University of Minnesota Golden Gophers. That broadcast will include a special tribute to Golden Gopher Head Coach John Anderson, who enters his 40th and final season as the program’s skipper.
