The Senate Agriculture and Natural Resources committee was thinking pink when it unanimously passed HB1228 Thursday (Feb. 22, 2024).
The bill would allow exterior hunting garments to be fluorescent pink, as well as the traditional blaze orange.
Senator Josh Klumb of Mitchell supported the measure which was sponsored by Senator Arch Beal of Sioux Falls.
Senator Jim Mehlhaff of Pierre agreed.
Beal’s daughter, Representative Jessica Bahmuller of Alexandria sponsored the bill in the House. The bill next goes to the Senate floor for final approval.
