With the NBA Finals in full swing, the Lakers are the team making the most noise in the media. As Adrian Wojnarowski reported, the Los Angeles Lakers extended a six-year, $70 million offer to UConn’s Dan Hurley, but he turned it down to stay as the coach of the Huskies.
Early rumors believed the guy for the Lakers was former NBA veteran, J.J. Reddick. But a “Woj Bomb” a few days ago revealed the Lakers were going to make a “sizeable” offer to Hurley. Enough, they believed, to pull him away from the school he had just won back to back national championships with. It was not.
“I am humbled by this entire experience,” Hurley said in a statement released by the school. “At the end of the day, I am extremely proud of the championship culture we have built at Connecticut. We met as a team before today’s workout and our focus right now is getting better this summer and connecting as a team as we continue to pursue championships.”
