Herreid/Selby Area girls took game one of this doubleheader in a nail biter 54-48 on the back of two double-digit scoring performances from the Allbee sisters. Katie finished with 11-points while Stephanie led the team in scoring with 21. Lemmon actually had the lead after the first half, 31-28. But the second half defense showed up for the Wolverines as they were able to hold Lemmon to single-digit points in the third and fourth quarter. The Wolverines offense outscored Lemmon 18-9 in the fourth to secure the win. For Lemmon, Izzie O’Donnell and Madison Dauwen had huge nights, Izzie with 23 and Madison with 17, but the Wolverines defense showed up at just the right time to get the victory.
In the boys game, Lemmon’s offense came ready to play, scoring double-digit points in all four quarters with a combined 46 in the second an third. The Cowboys were led by Blair Ham, who had an incredible night scoring 29-points and going 50% from deep (3-6). The Cowboys also got 12 from Arlus Yalowizer and 16 from Jacob Sonsalla in the 74-41 rout. For the Wolverines, they had one sole player in double-digits, Jared Weisbeck, who finished with 10.
