Harrisburg was crowned as the ESD Conference Gymnastics champion squad Saturday as they totaled 152.350 points. Mitchell came in second with 150.700 and Watertown third at 143.225. In recent memory these three teams have generally led the field among the ESD schools. Meanwhile the Pierre Governors put together one of their strongest meets of the season as they finished fourth with 139.875 points. Seniors Ryen Sheppick with 34.700 total points and Emmy Loe with 34.675 fared well in the All-Around standings, placing ninth and tenth respectively, while the best individual Governor finish in an event came from Isabel Jirsa who placed 12th on the Beam with a 9.025. The Govs hope to continue improving on their scores as they compete in the State Qualifier Meet in Watertown on Saturday before returning to Watertown the following weekend for the State Meet.
